Why is it the media always use "unexpected" when good news arrives about the economy?
This time it's "applications for unemployment benefits lower than expected". Not enough layoffs to suit the newsmonkeys, apparently.
The real chuckle is in the first paragraph, where they explain the number by postulating that employers are 'reluctant' to lay people off in SPITE of worsening economic numbers.
Could it be, instead, that they are not finding a REASON to lay people off, because it isn't as bad as the media say it is?
